    The Head of Business Continuity & Corporate Security (“HBCCS”) oversees the Business Continuity and Corporate Security functions for Boston Private Bank & Trust Company.  He/she holds the Business Continuity Manager title and manages a small team including the Corporate Security Officer.  In addition, the HBCCS oversees the incident response function.


    • Maintains the Business Continuity and Corporate Security Programs and related documentation. Continues to evolve the disciplines by incorporating best practices.
    • Ensures the Bank’s BC and CS Programs meet regulatory standards and expectations.
    • Chairs the Business Continuity Steering Committee and escalates issues to higher level management committees as appropriate.
    • Performs the annual BC assessments – Risk Assessment and Business Impact Analysis with the Bank’s department liaisons.
    • Provides oversight and leadership for business interruptions throughout the incident lifecycle, implements recovery procedures, and reports to management and Board level committees as required.
    • Manages the day-to-day functions related to maintaining Business Continuity Plans and ongoing testing.
    • Monitors disaster recovery operations, processes, and testing to ensure BC plans can place reliance on technology recovery.
    • Oversees the Corporate Security Officer and function. Provides support and guidance, especially with budgeting, life safety matters, and back-up coverage when needed.
    • Identifies potential business interruptions, develops safeguards against those interruptions, and implements recovery procedures in the event of a business interruption.
    • Provides training on the Business Continuity Program and its related concepts and procedures to all stakeholders.
    • Holds periodic tabletop exercises, records results, and makes improvements to the plans based on lessons learned.
    • Participates in the Bank’s Vendor Management Committee meetings in order to review third party Business Continuity Programs and testing results.



    • 7+ years of related work experience in Business Continuity and Corporate Security preferably within the Financial Services Industry
    • Advanced understanding and knowledge of FFIEC Business Continuity Standards and expectations
    • Proven leadership skills, especially during times of business interruption
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
    • Strong verbal/written communication skills. Must be able to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with business partners in remote locations
    • Strong administrative skills, with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates
    • Must be a leader, a team manager, and a productive team player
